Recently i had the idea to experiment with photographic sculpture, and in researching this idea i stumbled across the work of Gwon Osang, who had had the same idea and done it way better than i could of anyway! Osang is a Korean artist who creates these fantastic hollow photo-sculptures, to me they look like Hockney’s joiners in 3D. All the different body parts are shot using the same light source and are then pieced together without looking at the model. I think Osangs work plays around with ideas of scale and representation, he makes ordinary objects look extradordinary, to me theres also a deep sense of irony in his work, for example his paper rocks made out of real ones and filled with styrofoam. As always check out the website.
